Legislative Committee: Reviews and recommends
legislation for inclusion on VCDR Platform. Reviews legislation introduced
following formal adoption of VCDR Platform to determine VCDR position and
provide direction to staff for legislative advocacy. Comments on proposed State and Federal
regulations and legislation. Co-Chairs: Ed Paquin and Jason Whitney
Individual
& Family Support Committee: Reviews State and
Federal regulations, laws and policies for implications and impact on
Individual and Family Support programs and initiatives. Prepares advisory
comments to State Boards and Committees relating to Individual and Family
Support issues and programs. Determine positions for VCDR on issues/legislation
relating to Individual and Family Support. Chair: Kay Van Wort
Education
Committee: Reviews Federal and State regulations
and laws for implications and impact on the education of people with
disabilities. Prepares advisory comments to State Board of Education
relating to programs for people with disabilities. Determines position for VCDR on issues/legislation relating
to Education, especially Special Education Chair: Open
Steering
Committee: Acts for the Board upon matters of
business between meetings of the Board of Governors. Serves as the appeals
panel for positions taken by the other Standing Committees. Chair: Deborah Lisi-Baker
VCDR Board of Governors: Manages the Coalition, and consists of two representatives from each member organization and the officers of the Coalition.
